Wear Resistant Components

Diamorph has developed a functionally graded material which is tungsten carbide on one end, steel on the other end and in between a linear transition between the two materials. This eliminates the need for brazing tungsten carbide to steel, a common industry practice today. With this new innovation, manufacturing times can be significantly reduced while the components lasts longer.

Key Features:

Enabling Rapid Mounting

The need for brazing is eliminated; creating a significantly quicker manufacturing process through welding. The production time can be cut up to 90% compared to current manufacturing techniques.

Longer Lasting Wear Protection

Due to the simplified mounting of weldable tungsten carbide, the material can be used in a wider variety of applications. This had previously not been possible due to limitations of brazing. Changing from steel wear parts to Diamorph tungsten carbide gradient components means less machinery standstill and increased productivity due to longer lasting wear protection.

Reduced Material Cost

In many cases, entire components are made of tungsten carbide, for an application requiring wear resistant properties. With a gradient, the use of expensive carbides can be minimized; thus lowering the total cost of the component.
