Silicon Nitride Rollers
Diamorph have developed a ceramic bearing roller suitable for various bearing applications in industries such as wind power, electrical motors, motor sports, aerospace, military and medical. The rollers are is developed for hybrid bearings, where ceramic rollers are combined with steel rings, to serve as lighter and more durable alternatives to conventional all-steel counterparts.
Diamorph silicon nitride roller comes in standard dimensions or can be customized for your specific application. Diamorph can produce a wide variety of roller sizes with the same high quality independent of size. A hybrid bearing with the Diamorph rollers has several advantages over the all-steel bearing, including:
Longer service intervals
Comparing to a steel roller, Diamorph's material is roughly 120% harder and 68% stiffer. It will last 3-10 times longer, which is highly attractive in applications with high service costs. The Greenroller™ also reduces the need for lubrication.
Lightweight
Diamorph rollers are 60% lighter than comparably sized steel rollers. This enables for the bearing to be used at higher speeds.
High reliability
Diamorph can produce silicon nitride rollers with a homogenous microstructure and a lower porosity than the leading competitors, improving the reliability.
No leakage current or magnetism
Silicon Nitride is an insulator, eliminating any leakage currents. The insulation also eliminates electric arc damages that can be a problem with all-steel bearings. The roller is also non-magnetic.
