Grinding Wheels
Diamorph is leveraging on its knowledge in microstructure control to create a new grinding surface with improved cooling fluid access. The new grinding surfaces are being designed to be longer lasting and more efficient than current grinding wheels.
Grinding wheels today are dealing with increasingly harder and tougher surfaces. A key cause of degradation in grinding wheels is overheating due to insufficient cooling fluid access. Diamorph is attempting to solve this, and in the process increase the lifespan of grinding wheels. By tailoring the grinding wheel structure, one can improve performance, efficiency and lifetime of the grinding wheel. These key performance indicators largely depend on the strength of the mechanical bonds, the material’s ability to transport grinding residues and the efficiency of the cooling fluid.
